A Short History

The earliest reference to a community choir in Riverside is in 1945, with the Riverside Civic Chorus. The Riverside Chorale grew out of the Civic Chorus in 1961. The word “master” was added to the name in 1980, forming Riverside Master Chorale. Later, a new chorale was formed in Riverside in 1999 to prepare for the Evensong at Dickens Festival. That group became the Raincross Chorale. The two groups have merged; we celebrate this joint history of choral singing in Riverside.
We are the Raincross Master Chorale.
